Post-doctoral fellow, Cancer Biology University of Calgary Canada
The candidate will identify differentially expressed non-coding RNAs and evaluate their functions with respect to proliferation, self-renewal, and treatment resistance in brain tumor stem cells. This position offers the candidate the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with investigators from multiple disciplines including neurosurgery, neuropathology, neuro-oncology, and molecularbiology.

Experience and qualifications:
The candidate should have a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field. MD/PhD trained scientists and MDs with significant research experience are also encouraged to apply.
Experience with DNA and RNA analyses, PCR, quantitative PCR, western blotting, cloning / vector construction, tissue culture, transient and stable transfections, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and flow cytometry is desired.

The ideal candidate is expected to be able to work independently, conduct laboratory experiments with minimal supervision, perform data analysis, and propose and conduct follow-up experiments. The candidate must be meticulous and be able to keep detailed laboratory records. A strong command of the English language is required. The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, Canadian permanent resident, or have authorization to work in Canada.
